Austin – Man Died in FM 973

A two-car crash on Farm to Market Road 973 resulted in the death of one person, last Sunday morning.

Just after 5:00 a.m., police responded to the 5200 block of South FM 973, near Pearce Lane, to assist in a car accident involving a 2017 Dodge RAM and a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Police said the Dodge was heading south on the highway, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, when it drifted into the opposing lanes and crashed into the pickup truck. As a result, the pickup truck driver was killed at the scene. The Dodge driver was hospitalized at St. David’s South with injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening.

No identification was released at this time.

Austin local officials are investigating the incident. They have yet to determine the reason of the incident.
