Anderson County- Pedestrian Struck and Killed on US 79 Identified

The authorities have named the victim who was struck and killed by a car on US Highway 79 last Tuesday night.
According to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision took place last January 16 at around 8:00 p.m. A pedestrian, identified as 66-year-old Monte Ray Large, was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a northbound pickup truck. The force of the impact killed Large instantly.
The pickup truck driver was identified as 24-year-old James Marcus Stone. He was a resident from Jacksonville. It was not confirmed if he was hurt by the impact of the crash.
No citations have been made as of this writing. Police are still investigating the accident.
