Corpus Christi – 1 Injured Following Solo-Car Crash on SPID

At least one person was sent to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident on South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi, Monday.

Initial reports show that a passenger car was traveling along SPID near Nile when it drove off the roadway and struck a pole. It continued on and ended up on a grassy median. As a result, the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. No one else was injured.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe that the driver encountered a medical emergency prior to the crash. His identity has not been released at this time.

The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating the incident. No charges have been filed as of this writing.
