Corpus Christi – Woman Killed in I-37 Collision Identified

The Corpus Christi Police Department released the name of the woman who died in a fatal collision on Interstate Highway 37 last February 1st.
Just after 3:30 p.m., police were dispatched to 10200 block of Interstate 37 near Mckinzie Road in response to a call reporting a pedestrian accident. Initial investigation shows that a woman has just gotten out of her vehicle when a passing vehicle struck her. The force of the impact sent the female pedestrian to the northbound lanes of the highway. She sustained various injuries to her head and body and died at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Anna L. Quiroz. A resident of Corpus Christi, according to Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Quiroz was taken to the hospital for treatment. His identity has not been released at this time.
