Corpus Christi – Bicycle vs Car Collision on S Alameda Street

A bicyclist was sent to the hospital after getting into a crash on South Alameda Street last Monday, January 14th.

Just before 12 midnight, Corpus Christi local police responded to the 5500 block of South Alameda Street following report of a car accident. According to the initial report, a bicycle was seen traveling along the roadway when it was hit by a passing SUV. The rider fell to the ground, sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed to Bay Area Hospital where he received proper medical treatment. Authorities did not release his identification.

Initial investigation shows that the female driver of the SUV got distracted behind the wheel. It was not yet confirmed if she will be facing any charges.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
