Fort Bend – James Russell O’Canas Died in Lum Rd Crash

The passenger who died in a fiery car accident on Lum Road in Fort Bend has been identified by local officials.
The fatality was identified as James Russell O’Canas.
According to the initial investigation, the accident took place at the 900 block of Lum Road. A vehicle was travelling along the roadway when it suddenly drifted off the road and crashed into a tree. Upon impact, the vehicle caught fire. A passenger in the vehicle, James O’Canas, suffered from serious injuries and died at the scene. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Lee Cruz Trevino, Jr, initially sped off but later returned to the scene of the crash. was arrested and charged with reckless driving and criminally negligent homicide. It was not confirmed if he also sustained injuries due to the force of the impact.
