El Paso – Jose Cedillos Died, Gabino Hernandez Hospitalized Following US 54 Collision

A driver was thrown off of his vehicle after a fatal vehicle accident on US Highway 54 near Stan Roberts Sr Avenue.
A vehicle, driven by 52-year-old Jose Luis Ortiz Saucedo, was reportedly traveling along US 54 when it collided with another car which was driven by 47-year-old Jose Ortiz Cedillos. The impact of the collision ejected Cedillos from his vehicle. He sustained significant injuries and died at the scene. Another occupant in Cedillos’ vehicle suffered from non-life-threatening injuries from the impact. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later identified as 41-year-old Gabino Hernandez.
Based on the initial investigation, Saucedo failed to yield the right of way which may have contributed to the crash. No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
