El Paso – 1 Killed, 1 Injured in Auto Collision on US 54

A fatal vehicle accident on US Highway 54 caused the death of one person in El Paso, Tuesday.

According to initial reports, the incident took place on US 54 near Stan Roberts Sr Avenue. A vehicle was seen traveling along the highway when it failed to give way to another car. The impact of the crash ejected the driver of the second vehicle who was not wearing a seat belt. He sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the first vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. His identification was not released pending notification of their next of kin.

The El Paso Police Department is conducting an investigation about the incident.
