Decatur- Several Injured on Head-on Collision on Farm to Market Road 730

At least seven people were sent to the hospital following a major accident on Farm to Market Road 730 last week.

Police said a 2007 Cadillac Escalade was seen heading south on FM 730 when it crashed head-on with a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Cadillac driver, 20-year-old Alexander Nieto, and his female passenger was seriously injured and were taken to Medical City Hospital in Denton. Another occupant in the Cadillac sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency crews. She was identified as 47-year-old Manuela H. Pedroza.

The Ford driver and his passenger were taken to Harris Methodist Hospital with critical injuries. They were identified as 37-year-old Calvin C. Loftice, and his passenger, 31-year-old Cori Loftice, respectively.

Decatur officials have yet to determine the reason that caused the two cars to crash.
