Lubbock – Two Injured in Vehicle Accident on Interstate 27

A vehicle accident involving a speeding car resulted in injuries of two people on Interstate 27 in Amarillo, Sunday.
Initial investigation shows that responding officers were requested at the 3400 block of South I-27 to assist people injured. A Nissan 350 Z was reportedly traveling at an unsafe speed when it crashed into a police cruiser. The force of the impact seriously injured the driver of the Nissan and his passenger. They were both rushed to a hospital with significant injuries. The driver was later identified as 20-year-old Dylan Garza.
The Lubbock Police Department arrived at the scene to gather more information about the accident. They are suspecting alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
An investigation is underway.
