Kaufman – Woman Died after Being Ejected from Car on FM 987

A man was pronounced deceased following a fatal crash on Farm to Market Road 987, Friday.
According to the report, a sport utility vehicle had been traveling along FM 987 when, for yet unknown reasons, it crashed into a car that had crossed the center line. The force of the impact sent the SUV into the path of a passing Jeep, ejecting the SUV’s passenger in the process. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
A total of eight people sustained various injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Police said two of the injured victims were children. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.
The Kaufman police are still determining the reason that caused the car to drift into the path of the SUV.
