Mitchell County – 1 Killed 1 Injured in Interstate 20 Collision

At least one person was pronounced deceased after getting involved in a vehicle collision on Interstate 20, last Friday.
According to the initial investigation, the incident took place just after 6:20 a.m. along I-20. A vehicle had been traveling along the highway when, for yet unknown reasons, it ignored a yield sign and crashed into a pickup truck. Police said the truck was attempting to enter the highway when the collision took place. The impact of the crash killed the driver of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital where he was given treatment. His condition was not immediately disclosed.
No identification has been released pending notification of their next of kin.
Area investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability. No charges have been made at this point.
