Eagle Pass – 1 Killed, 1 Injured on Highway 277

Law enforcement officials are investigating a vehicle accident that caused the death of one person on Texas Highway 277, Tuesday.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety officials, the incident took place on Highway 277 near Eagle Pass. A passenger vehicle had been traveling along the roadway when it struck the rear of a truck. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was only identified as a 18-year-old woman. A passenger in the car sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to a hospital for further medical treatment. Police said she and the driver are related.

No one else was injured.

Police have yet to determine the reason why the vehicle crashed into the truck. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
