Dimmit – Man Died in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Highway 86

A man was pronounced deceased after getting involved in a motorcycle accident on Highway 86 in Dimmit last Sunday.
Initial investigation shows that the accident took place just after 7:00 p.m. on Hwy 86. A motorcycle had been traveling along the highway when it crashed into a deer that was at the middle of the roadway. The force of the impact ejected the rider off his motorcycle, leaving him with significant injuries. The operator of the motorcycle, who was only identified as a 64-year-old man, was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded at the scene.
Authorities will release the victim’s identification once his family has been notified.
No other injuries were reported.
The Dimmit Police Department was also requested at the scene to determine liability. An investigation is ongoing.
