Travis County – Victim of Hit-and-Run Crash on FM 812 ID’d

The Travis County Police Department has released the identification of the Mountain View man who died in a fatal pedestrian accident on Farm to Market Road 812, Sunday evening.

The fatality was identified as 36-year-old Martin Friedrich Ross.

According to initial reports, Ross was attempting to cross FM 812 from Circuit of the Americas when a passing vehicle, traveling along the eastbound lane, struck him. The impact of the crash killed Ross at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. Police believe that the vehicle was a Ford pick-up truck, possibly a King Ranch edition, with front-end damage and scratches on its hood. They have yet to determine the owner of the truck and the driver involved.

An investigation is ongoing.
