Lewisville – Train Struck a Pedestrian on Kealy Ave

The Lewisville Police Department and Fire Department are conducting an investigation about a pedestrian collision involving a train on Kealy Avenue near the downtown Lewisville area.
Just after 12:25 p.m., a woman was walking near the railroad tracks when a DCTA train that was traveling south struck her. According to the initial investigation, the train was traveling at a slow pace but the operator could not avoid her. The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. She was rushed to the hospital where she was given further medical care. Her condition was not disclosed by authorities.
No one else was injured, as per the report released by responding officers.
Police believed that the woman was wearing headphones as she crosses the section of the track.
