Porter – Train Collision on TX 494 Leaves 1 Dead

The Porter Police Department is investigating a train accident on Texas 494 which resulted in the death of one person, November 3rd.
According to the report released by responding officers, the incident took place at around 8:00 p.m. on Loop 494. How the crash happened is yet to be determined by local police but it was confirmed that a person was hit by a train passing by. The force of the impact killed the pedestrian at the scene. His identification was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Fortunately, the driver of the train was not hurt. It was not clear if the train had passengers onboard during the time of the accident.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
