Galveston – Man Died in Fatal 7th Street

Galveston law enforcement officials have yet to release information about an accident involving a Galveston Island Transit tourist bus on 7th Street, Sunday night.

At around 10:00 p.m., a crash was reported at the intersection of 7th St and Broadway. A bus was heading west on Broadway when it collided with a Honda Accord that was traveling along the eastbound lane. Police said the bus was attempting to make a left turn towards 7th when the crash took place. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they found the Accord underneath the bus. Its driver was pronounced deceased by emergency crews. They said he no longer had vital signs when they arrived at the scene.

The operator of the trolley bus was hurt. He was rushed to the hospital where he received medical treatment and released. Fortunately, the bus had no passengers during the time of the accident.
