Hardin County – Rollover Collision on FM 420 Injures 3, Kills 1

At least three people were hospitalized following a fatal rollover accident on Farm to Market Road 420, late Saturday evening.

According to police, the crash happened at around 10:45 p.m. about 10 miles north of Kountze in Hardin County. In the release of Texas Department of Public Safety, a westbound 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck was heading west on FM 420 when, for yet unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway and ended up in the south ditch. When the driver tried to overcorrect his vehicle, he lost control which caused the car to overturn and landed on its side. The driver of the pickup truck, who was identified only as a 55-year-old Kountze man, died at the scene. His passengers were immediately taken to St. Elizabeth hospital. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Area investigators are still determining the cause of the accident.
