Montague County – Alvord Man Died in Solo-Vehicle Accident on SH 101

A fatal auto crash on State Highway 101 resulted in the death of one person, Thursday, October 10th.
In the report released by Montague County local officials, the accident took place at around 10:30 a.m. on the northbound lane of SH 101 just past Sunset. Police said a pickup truck had been traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it went off the roadway and onto the right shoulder. When the driver attempted to drove back into the roadway, the pickup truck skidded sideways and landed in the ditch from the south side. As the truck overturned a number of times, the driver was ejected, leaving him with significant injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace David Allen.
Area investigators arrived at the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
