Lubbock – One Seriously Injured Following a Vehicle Accident on US 87

At least one person was sent to a hospital after a vehicle crash on US Highway 87 in Lynn County, Saturday afternoon.

At around 5:00 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the southbound lanes of US 87 after receiving a report of a crash near the Lubbock-Lunn County line. According to the report, a Jeep Wrangler was heading south on the highway when it swerved into another lane where it crashed into a Toyota Camry that was also heading south. The Wrangler went out of control and overturn. Its driver, whose identity has not yet been released, sustained significant injuries as a result of the crash. He was rushed to University Medical Center in Lubbock where he was listed in a serious condition.

Fortunately, the occupants in Camry were unharmed.

No charges have been made at this time.
