A suspected speeding crash resulted in one death and injuries to another person on State Highway 207, according to a local news source.
In the report released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, an undescribed vehicle was traveling along SH 207 at around 7:00 a.m. As it goes south, the car passed by a large pool of standing water, causing it to hydroplane. It then rolled over and came to rest in a drainage ditch on its side. When DPS troopers arrived at the scene, they found a woman, identified only as a Stinnet resident, inside the vehicle. She was immediately taken to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening. Her passenger, a 54-year-old Borger woman, was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased. It was not confirmed if she died at the scene.
