Starr County – Solo-Vehicle Accident on FM 690

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are conducting an investigation about a recent car crash on Farm to Market Road 690 which killed a man, Saturday evening.
At around 8:30 p.m., DPS troopers responded to mile marker 690 on FM 690 after receiving a report about a rollover accident. In the initial report, it shows that a red Chevrolet Silverado was traveling along the roadway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it went out of control and rolled over a number of times. Its driver was killed upon impact. He was pronounced deceased at the scene and later identified as 35-year-old Antonio Gutierrez Jr., a resident of Rio Grande City.
No other injuries were reported.
Local police were also requested at the scene to determine the reason that caused Gutierrez to lose control of the car. The crash remains under investigation.
