Zabcikville – Head-on Collision Injures 2

Two people were sent to a hospital following a major crash on a rural Bell County highway Thursday, a local news source reported.
Just after 4:00 p.m., DPS troopers were dispatched to State Highway 53, in eastern Bell County, in response to a call reporting an accident involving two sport utility vehicles. According to the initial investigation, the first SUV was heading west when it collided with an eastbound vehicle as it attempted to pass another car. Two occupants in one of the SUVs sustained significant injuries as a result of the crash. They were taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where they were listed in critical condition. Their identifications were withheld at this time.
No other injuries were reported.
Area investigators arrived at the scene to determine the circumstances leading up to the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
