Baytown – Major Collision on Highway 146

One person was killed while another sustained injuries after an auto crash on Highway 146, early Wednesday morning.

At around 5:00 a.m., Baytown law enforcement officials responded to a collision on Highway 146. Initial investigation shows that a pickup truck and two other vehicles had collided along the southbound lanes of the highway near the Fred Hartman Bridge. How the crash happened is yet to be determined by local officials but it was confirmed that one person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another occupant sustained injuries but it was not clear if he was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

All traffic was diverted to the shoulder, causing major delays until about 7 a.m. The bridge has since fully reopened.

The Baytown Police Department arrived at the scene to determine liability. An investigation is underway.
