Converse – Female Struck by Train on Gibbs Sprawl

A woman sustained significant injuries after getting hit by a train on Gibbs Sprawl Road, Monday night.
Just before 9:40 p.m., Converse local officials received a notification reporting a collision involving a train on Gibb Sprawl Rd near Toepperwein Road. According to initial reports, a young female was walking on the tracks when a passing train hit her. The pedestrian, whose identification has not been released, sustained major injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she was given medical treatment. Authorities said her condition is stable and she is expected to recover.
No one else was injured. It is not confirmed if the train has passengers onboard at the time of the accident.
Area investigators are still determining the reason why the victim was on the tracks and not able to avoid the oncoming train.
