Houston – Hit-and-Run Driver of North Wayside Drive Crash Still at Large

Houston law enforcement officials are still in pursuit of the driver who fled the scene after a deadly pedestrian collision on North Wayside Drive, last Wednesday.
The incident took place at the 400 block of the North Wayside Drive near the Houston Ship Channel just before 6:00 a.m. A pedestrian was walking either on the sidewalk or in the roadway when an undescribed vehicle crashed into them. Police said the victim was pronounced deceased shortly after the collision. It was not confirmed if he was initially rushed to a hospital.
Authorities did not release identification of the victim pending notification of his next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle involved had already left even before authorities arrived at the scene. The description and location of his car remain unknown at this time.
The search continues.
