Longview – Two-Car Collision on West Loop 281

The Longview Police Department is conducting an investigation about a vehicle crash on West Loop 281, Friday afternoon.
In an unspecified time in the afternoon, local troopers were dispatched to the 1300 block of West Loop 281 to assist in a collision involving two vehicles. A car was seen leaving a private driveway when it drove across three lanes and crashed into another vehicle that was heading east in the inside lane. Authorities said the first car was trying to enter a left-turn lane prior to the crash.
The impact of the collision seriously injured the female driver of the first car. She was taken to Longview Regional Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities only identified her as a 74-year-old Longview woman. No words on the injury sustained by the second car.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
