College Station- Carly Beatty Struck by DUI Driver on Texas Ave

The high school student who was hit by a vehicle on Texas Avenue last September 14 has succumbed to her injuries, Sunday morning.
According to reports, A Frisco Centennial high school graduate was walking at the intersection near University Drive when a passing Nissan Pathfinder swerved off the street and struck her. The pedestrian, who was identified as 19-year-old Carly Beatty, sustained fatal injuries and had to go through a series of surgeries as a result of the collision. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries despite life-saving medical efforts.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as Pedro Puga, 17, of Bryan, fled the scene without providing assistance to Beatty. He was then located and arrested for Intoxication Assault and Failure to Stop and Render Aid. His bond is set at $26,000.
