Idalou – Arcadio Hernandez Jr ID’d Victim of US 62 Crash

The Idalou Police Department has identified the man who injured in a fatal vehicle accident on US Highway 62 last Wednesday morning.
He was named as 42-year-old Arcadio Hernandez Jr. The victim was a resident of Lorenzo, Texas.
Initial investigation shows that Hernandez was driving a 2012 Ford pickup truck along the westbound lane of Highway 62-82 near Idalou when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it crossed the center median and crashed into a 1988 Peterbilt semi-truck that was heading east. Local authorities said the semi-truck was making a U-turn before he collided with the Ford.
Following the impact, Hernandez sustained serious injuries and was trapped inside the wreckage. He was extricated by responding officers using the Jaws of Life and rushed to University Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 58-year-old Curtis Wayne Young of Lubbock, was not injured in the crash.
