Converse – Pedestrian Struck and Killed by a Car on FM 78

A fatal pedestrian accident on Farm to Market Road 78 caused the death of one person, Saturday morning.
At around 2:45 a.m., a man was seen crossing the road near Seguin Road when a vehicle that was heading south on Seguin struck him. The circumstances leading up to the accident remain unclear at this time but it was confirmed that the victim was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the accident.
The force of the impact seriously injured the victim. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. His identification was not disclosed.
The female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene until authorities arrived. She did not sustain any injury.
Authorities did not specify if the driver will be facing charges. An investigation is underway.
