San Marcos – Train Collision on South Guadalupe Street

Several were hurt when a train collided with a vehicle on South Guadalupe Street in San Marcos, Thursday.
Based on the report released by the San Marcos police, the incident took place just after 4:00 p.m., local officers responded to the intersection of South Guadalupe and MLK Drive near The Square in response to a call reporting a crash. Details surrounding the collision remain unclear at this time but it was confirmed that an undescribed vehicle somehow crashed into a train.
The force of the impact left a number of people with various injuries which were considered not critical.
Multiple intersections in the downtown area, including M Allen Parkway and Hopkins Street, were shut down to give way for clearing and investigation.
No further information is available at this time as the investigation is still in progress.
