Victoria – Highway 185 Collision Leaves One Dead

One person was pronounced deceased after a fatal car accident on Highway 185 in Calhoun County, Friday morning.
At around 5:00 a.m., local troopers responded to Texas Highway 185 to assist in a vehicle accident involving two vehicles. According to initial reports, a Chevrolet Cavalier was seen coming out from a chemical plant and heading towards the highway when a GMC Sierra pickup truck struck it. Police said the pickup truck was not able to slow down and hit the driver’s side door of the Chevrolet. The impact of the collision killed the Chevrolet driver. He was only identified as a 35-year-old Victoria man.
Based on an initial investigation, the location of the plan is near a curve which may have played a role in the accident. No citations have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
