Fort Worth – 1-year-old Ashley Castro Velasquez Died in Auto-Pedestrian Collision on Gardenia Dr

A one-year-old girl was pronounced deceased after a deadly collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Gardenia Drive, last Saturday afternoon.
Just after 3:00 p.m., Fort Worth officials responded to a crash at the 3000 block of Gardenia Drive. According to reports, a child, for reasons that had not yet been determined, was struck by a passing vehicle. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian with severe injuries. She later died from the injuries sustained from the crash.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Officer identified the victim as 1-year-old Ashley Castro Velasquez.
The driver of the vehicle was taken by Fort Worth police for questioning. His identification was not released at this time.
No citations have been issued as the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who has seen the incident is encouraged to get in contact with local investigators.
