Houston — Car Flips on 288 Frontage Road

A major collision happened at 7:19 a.m. near the Houston Medical Center on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
According to the reports, a red sedan and a purple SUV crashed into one another at the intersection of 288 South and Old Spanish Trail, near Holocombe. The collision caused one of the vehicles to tumble down the embankment of an elevated are of the road.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the Memorial Hermann Hospital for minor injuries while the driver of the red sedan appeared to be in good condition.
Even though the individuals involved in this vehicular collision turned out to be relatively unscathed, it is still worth noting that accidents like this occur quite often nowadays. According to the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA), car accidents happen almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, a car accident occurs that results in death. Furthermore, the NHTSA also reports that 85% of car accidents happen on the open road while 15% happen near intersections, which is the case for this particular vehicular accident.
