Cresson – Auto Accident Leaves 7 Injured on Highway 171

Several people, including children, sustained various injuries following a major vehicle crash on Texas Highway 171 in Cresson, Tuesday afternoon.
At around 2:00 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety received a notification reporting a crash that happened at the 1600 block of Texas Highway 171. According to an initial investigation, 2009 Dodge pickup was traveling along the southbound lane of the highway when its driver failed to manage a curve, lost control of the vehicle, and skidded sideways. The pickup truck ended up in the opposing lanes where it collided with a 2006 Toyota pickup truck.
The driver of the Dodge, including his wife and three kids sustained injuries as a result of the collision. They were all transported to a hospital in Fort Worth for treatment. Meanwhhile, the driver of the Toyota and his son was also airlifted to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. They were only identified as 57-year-old and 22-year-old male victims, respectively.
Authorities believed weather conditions may have played a role in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
