Wylie – Child Struck by Car While on Bicycle on S Ballard Avenue

A 10-year-old boy sustained injuries after getting hit by a car on South Ballard Avenue, Wednesday morning.
According to the report, the incident happened at around 7:45 a.m., local police responded to the 1000 South Ballard Avenue at Harrison Intermediate School to assist in a crash involving a bicyclist and a car. Initial investigation indicates that a 10-year-old boy was on his bicycle through a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle that was pulling out of the parking lot.
The boy suffered from unknown injuries as a result of the accident. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition. His identification was withheld at this time.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was cited for having no driver’s license and for failure to yield right of way while exiting a private driveway. He was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
