Midland – Jenna Bird Died in Two-Car Crash on FM 1379

Midland law enforcement officials have identified the victims of a fatal vehicle collision on Farm to Market Road 1379 last Monday morning.
The victims were named as Jenna Bird, 15, and Julietta Bird, 44.
According to police, Julietta Bird was waiting for her green signal at the intersection of FM 1379 and Highway 158 when she failed to yield to a passing 2017 Ford F-250 pickup truck, prompting a crash. Police said that Bird was attempting to make a left turn towards SH 158 when the accident occurred.
The impact of the crash killed Jenna Bird on scene. Meanwhile, Julietta and another passenger, identified only as a 12-year-old occupant, sustained non-incapacitating injuries. They were both transported to Midland Memorial Hospital where they received medical treatment. Their condition was not immediately disclosed.
Local investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability. No charges have been filed at this time.
