Dallas – Officer Struck by a DART Train on Bryan Street

Dallas law enforcement officials are conducting an investigating about a pedestrian vs Dallas Area Rapid Transit train accident on Bryan Street, Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, a Dallas police officer was seen crossing Bryan Street when he was hit by a DART train that was heading west. A witness told the police that the train was ringing its bell when it struck the pedestrian who was reportedly wearing headphones during the time of the incident. The force of the impact left the victim was various injuries. He was transported to Baylor University Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.
Authorities did not release the identification of the victim pending notification of his next of kin.
Fortunately, no one else was injured.
DART temporarily suspended light-rail service downtown after the incident. The investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability.
