Lone Oak – 2 Killed in Two-Car Accident on US 69

Law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation about a traffic collision involving two cars on US Highway 69 near Lone Oak, Sunday evening.
At around 6:30 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were notified of a major crash on US 69 near Whelan Road. According to the investigation, a silver Jeep was heading south on the highway when it crossed the center line drove toward the path of a white Grand Caravan that was traveling along the southbound lane.
The driver of the Grand Caravan died from the force of the impact. The Jeep driver was transported to Medical City of Plano where he was also pronounced deceased. Their identifications were withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
No one else was reportedly injured.
The crash is currently under investigation and no additional information is currently available.
