Odessa- Woman hospitalized following I-20 accident

A tragic car accident on Interstate 20 sent an Odessa woman to a hospital, early Saturday morning.
At around 5:00 a.m., a wreck which involved an 18-wheeler UPS Freightliner was reported at I-20 near West Loop 338. Based on the preliminary investigation of officers and Odessa Fire Rescue who responded to the scene, an unidentified vehicle was heading towards the off-ramp when it traveled across the westbound lanes and onto the path of the truck, striking it in the process.
The impact of the collision leaves the driver with life-threatening injuries. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Erica Carrillo from Odessa, was rushed to MCH for treatment. She is in critical condition, reports say.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators arrived at the scene.
