Oldham County – 1 Killed after Car Accident on Interstate 40

A fatal vehicular accident on Interstate 40 near Wildorado caused the death of one person last Saturday afternoon.

Based on a preliminary report released by DPS officials, the incident took place just after 3:00 p.m. in the outside lane of I-40. Police said that a semi-truck towing a semi-trailer had been traveling along the eastbound lane of the highway when it was struck by a pickup truck towing a trailer that was heading in the same direction. The semi-trailer was trying to pull over, with safety hazard lights on, when it was rear-ended by the pickup truck that was not able to slow down in time.

The impact of the crash killed the driver of pickup instantly. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

Fortunately, no one else was reportedly injured.

An investigation is underway.
