Terrell County – Head-on Collision Between 2 Big Rigs Killed 2 People

Two people were pronounced dead as a result of a collision that took place on Highway 90, Monday night.
According to Terrell County officials, the incident occurred on Highway 90 just east of Dryden. An 18-wheeler truck was seen traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not been determined, it crossed the center line and collided head-on with another tractor-trailer. The impact of the collision caused both trucks to burst into flames.
Both drivers were pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the scene. They were identified as 60-year-old Cayetano Echevaria-Ramirez from El Paso and 27-year-old Hector Reyes-Acosta, from Chihuahua, Mexico.
Police have yet to determine why the driver of the 18-wheeler drifted onto the center line.
The crash remains under investigation.
