Denton County – Royce Petty, Jr. Died in Deadly Motorcycle Crash on U.S. 380

A Sunday motorcycle crash on US 380 in Denton County caused the death of a 52-year-old man, according to a local news source.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a motorcycle was heading east on US 380 when it collided with a Ford F-250 as it approaches Ripy Road. Police said that the pickup truck failed to give way to the rider which prompted the crash.
The rider of the motorcycle, identified as Royce Petty Jr., 52, was immediately taken to Denton hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was a resident of Decatur, local officials said. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck, identified as Cecil Jones, 78, of Krum, was not injured.
No citations have been released at the investigators continue to gather information about the case.
