Laredo – Officer Dies Following a Fatal Vehicle Accident on Loop 20

A United Independent School District (UISD) police officer passed away after getting involved in a fatal car accident on Bob Bullock Loop, Wednesday night.
According to local authorities, the officer was identified as Jose Izaguirre. He was with the UISD Police Department for four years and previously he worked for the LISD Police Department.
Based on a preliminary investigation, Izaguirre was riding a black Harley Davidson motorcycle along Bob Bullock Loop when it collided with another vehicle that was traveling along the southbound lane. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found Izaguirre lying on the ground with serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition; however, he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Izaguirre was then arrested and charged with accident involving serious bodily injury. He was identified as 53-year-old Raymundo Cervantes.
