Corpus Christi – Motorcycle Crash on South Staples Street

The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating a collision involving a motorcycle on South Staples Street, Saturday morning.
Just before 5:00 a.m., local troopers were called onto South Staples Street near Curtis Clark Drive to assist in a car accident. Police said that a motorcycle was seen traveling along South Staples when it collided with a pickup truck that was heading west. Based on a preliminary investigation, the said vehicle was not able to yield the motorcycle, prompting a crash.
The motorcycle rider, identified only as a 53-year-old man was rushed to Bay Area Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries at a later time.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
No charges have been filed against the truck driver as the investigation is still in progress.
