El Paso – 56-year-old Man Struck and Killed by Car on N. Mesa Street

A man died after getting hit by a vehicle on North Mesa Street in West El Paso, last Tuesday.
Just after 9:00 p.m., an auto versus pedestrian collision happened on the 6900 block of North Mesa Street near Resler Drive. A pedestrian was attempting to cross North Mesa when he was struck by a Ford Explorer that was traveling along the northbound lanes of the roadway.
The impact of the collision left the victim, identified as Eric Martinez, 56, with serious injuries. He was then taken to University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said no charges are filed and the Special Traffic Investigators unit is still looking into the deadly collision. Anyone who has information about the case is encouraged to get in contact with the El Paso Police Department.
