Austin – 1 Killed in Deadly Auto Collision on Highway 290

At least one person was pronounced dead after a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 290 in western Travis County, early Friday morning.
At around 1:00 a.m., Austin local officials were requested on US 290 near Shallow Ford Drive in response to a call reporting a collision. How the crash took place remains unclear at this time but it was confirmed that a Toyota 4Runner was in a complete wreck after colliding with a tractor-trailer.
Authorities said that one person died as a result of the crash. It was not clear if he was an occupant in the sport utility vehicle of the tractor-trailer.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators arrived at the scene to gather details surrounding the incident. The road was temporarily closed for clearing.
