A fatal car accident on US Highway 62 sent two people to a hospital and killed one person, according to a local news source.
In an unspecified time last Saturday evening, local officers were requested on US 62 in response to a call reporting a vehicular accident. Police said that a Chevrolet Traverse was seen heading east on Foster Road when collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck towing a U-Haul trailer that was approaching the intersection. The impact of the collision sent the Traverse into the east ditch of the highway before coming to rest while the pickup truck drifted onto the center median, across the westbound lanes and landed on the west ditch.
The driver of the traverse was pronounced dead at the scene. He was only identified as a 72-year-old Weatherford resident. His two passengers, whose identities have not been released, were rushed to University Medical Center in Lubbock with incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
An investigation is underway.
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of the injured victims. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Hockley County Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Injuries caused by vehicle collisions can vary from crash to crash. Some injuries may heal within a span of days while others could paralyze a victim’s body for a month. The most commonly known car accident injuries include neck and chest and head and back injuries. Broken and ligament damages are also quite common.
Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties—and filing a claim can get complicated. To make sure your claim is successful, you need to gather supporting evidence and documents that can back up your claim. It could be a detailed account of the accident you are involved in or documents indicating the extent of injuries you sustained. These may include a video or photograph of the scene, police reports, and medical records, to name a few.
