The 18-year-old Bon Wier woman who was sent to a hospital after a chain-reaction collision on US Highway 190 has been identified by local officials, according to a local news source.
The injured victim was identified as Bailey Kay Farwell. She is operating one of the three vehicles involved in the major accident.
Police said that Farwell was driving a 2008 Pontiac passenger car when it rear-ended a 2018 Nissan passenger SUV that was traveling along the westbound lane of Highway 190. Based on a preliminary investigation, a 2018 International truck tractor-semi-trailer rig, also heading west, suddenly stopped, prompting a chain-reaction collision. Farwell was not able to negotiate her speed, striking the back of the Nissan.
The impact of the collision left Farwell with serious injuries. She was rushed to Lufkin hospital where she received medical treatment.
Fortunately, no one else was reportedly injured.
The investigation is still in progress.
Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the injured victims. We pray for their speedy recovery.
While on the road, it is important to avoid any form of distractions and be completely aware of our surroundings. We have to be reminded of how our choices while behind the wheel can affect other people’s lives.
Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties and that filing an insurance claim for injury compensation after an accident can be overwhelming. To ensure that you are properly compensated, you would need to gather enough evidence and documents that will support your claim. You also want to file this with either your insurance provider or the insurer of the responsible party as soon as possible.
